Every day on the job requires sharp skills, quick decisions, and unwavering attention to detail. As a Maintenance Mechanic, Chris has not only mastered heating, air, plumbing, and electrical systems, but also the complex intricacies of his facility. Patients count on his team for comfort and safety, so every repair matters.

With over three decades of experience, Dawn brings energy and passion to everything she does. As the Facilities Coordinator for several Tennessee facilities teams, she’s responsible for managing vendors, streamlining systems, supervising compliance activities, and anticipating the next challenge. Serving as the quiet force overseeing hospital operations that keep patients and associates safe, Dawn pursues new certifications and skills that continue to elevate her expertise and strengthen the vital work happening behind the scenes.

Starting as an AutoCAD designer updating healthcare facility drawings, Darin now walks hospital halls ensuring each building meets strict compliance standards. As Life Safety Code Specialist, he conducts fire and life safety inspections of facilities, sharing findings and ensuring life safety drawings are up to code. Fueled by teamwork, a passion for educating others, and a “find a way” mindset, Darin has turned his technical roots into a purpose-driven career where protecting people comes first.
 

At the advice of a family friend, Aaron took his first step into healthcare over twenty years ago. Starting as a boiler operator in a Wisconsin hospital, he now leads several facilities teams across the country, finding joy in a career that positively impacts lives. As Vice President, Operations, he ensures teams have the resources, tools, and support needed to serve patients, empower clinicians, and meet client expectations. Through mentorship, Aaron allows others to harness their unique strengths, fostering collaboration and unity as they work toward a shared mission.

Travis’ journey from the college classroom to Medxcel has always been guided by one thing: a drive to lead with purpose. What began as a desire to help others led him from the front lines as a respiratory therapist to the fast-paced world of technology. He’s found his stride in a place where balance, growth, and making a real impact are valued. As IT Analyst, Travis propels the vision, implementation, and success of Medxcel’s software solutions, empowering teams with the best tools to care for patients.

What surprised Beatrice the most when she began working in healthcare was how much happens behind the scenes. She realized that every role plays a vital part in a patient’s journey. As AP Specialist, she handles invoice exceptions for hospitals across multiple regions and in the corporate office. Beatrice's passion for problem-solving and quick resolution ensures uninterrupted service for patients and staff.

“It's not just about fixing things all the time. It's customer service that’s important.” While preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and mechanical system repairs are all part of his job as a Maintenance Mechanic, Phillip has found that building trust among patients and staff is as valuable as the technical work.

From scaffolding at oil refineries to operating critical systems in a busy Austin hospital, Juan has built his career one skill at a time. As Powerplant Operator II, he’s discovered that his industrial expertise translates perfectly to healthcare—where keeping boilers running and temperatures comfortable directly impacts patient healing. Just over a year at Medxcel, Juan has already earned a promotion and is eyeing compliance work next.

From creating recycled art to IT solutions, Thomas brings his whole self to work as Medxcel’s IT Service Desk Supervisor. With a background in retail, Thomas combines technical expertise with genuine customer care to keep Medxcel team members and systems running smoothly.

Before joining Medxcel, Marshall was searching for better hours and work/life balance. At Medxcel, he found a compelling mission, support, and peers who make it a joy to come to work each day. “At the end of the day, it’s really about people,” he shares.

Jesse’s passion for the skilled trades emerged in childhood, emulating his dad — a “very handy man” — from an early age. Describing himself as a “long-term individual,” he’s now been serving his hospital for nearly 30 years, keeping healthcare facilities operational while mentoring young professionals as they enter the field or advance their careers.

The son of a plumber, Tim learned the value of hard work and how rewarding a skilled trader career could be early on in life. Starting as a plumber, he acquired additional skills along his career path including auto maintenance, HVAC, equipment repair, and power plant operations, bringing a robust and wide-ranging set of experience to his work as a hospital maintenance mechanic.

Employers often tout work-life balance when recruiting employees. Not every employer lives out that promise, however. For Deb, healthy work/family boundaries and leaders who encourage and celebrate community service are two reasons why she’s enjoyed working at Medxcel.

A self-described “connector of opportunity,” Breon recruits talented professionals for a variety of roles at Medxcel. When asked what stands out about Medxcel as an employer, Breon points to two things: growth opportunities and adherence to core values. “The people you’ll meet at Medxcel are eager to be valuable resources,” he shares: “That’s what makes helping people find their place here so rewarding.”

I think the way the outside of the hospital looks influences the way people feel coming into the hospital. If your landscaping looks neat, attractive and well-maintained, it’s going to make you feel confident that you’re entering a place that will take good care of you. 

The Medxcel culture is very inclusive, diverse, engaging, and innovative. As a company we take great pride in our work. 

Safety is huge for patients. You never want anyone to go home sicker than they came into our facilities. We can’t do anything about what brought them to the hospital, but we don’t want their condition to worsen because of our buildings, or because the air pressure is wrong, or because there was a fire, for example. They shouldn’t have to worry about water systems, temperature, humidity, none of those things should be on their minds.
 

I often find myself in the role of a coach. The conversations I have with people are less about me telling them what to do, and more about listening. “How would you do this? Have you thought about this?” I also  provide insight and perspective to other departments on how initiatives might land in the field, exploring any ramifications we may not have considered.

Daniel oversees the operations of the maintenance and facilities department at his client’s healthcare facility. As Facilities Director, he works with the client and Medxcel to align and achieve operational goals while ensuring safe and efficient operation of the site in compliance with applicable regulatory and safety guidelines, all while maintaining service excellence.

Meet Joy! Joy is the Manager of Regulatory Compliance Support for Medxcel. In her role Joy leads Medxcel’s team of Facilities Support Managers who are responsible for implementing policies, procedures, processes, ad providing training to support of the Facility Management Operating system (FMOS®) for Medxcel’s operations across the United States. Through her team of Compliance Support Managers, Joy holds primary responsibility for assuring those policies, procedures, and protocols are implemented, enabling standardization, training, optimization, and compliance of facility operations.

 

Meet Dan! Dan is a Landscaping Supervisor at a hospital campus in southeastern Wisconsin. In his role Dan supervises the horticulture requirements and the landscaping team at his assigned customer site. Dan and his team perform a variety of landscaping duties such as planting, weeding, digging, spreading topsoil and other materials, general lawn maintenance, irrigation system maintenance, and seasonal lawn preparation. They also handle snow removal seasonally for the hospital campus.

 

Meet Greg! In his role as Director of Fire Systems, Greg is responsible for the strategy, direction, organization, and administration of Medxcel’s national fire systems program. He assists in developing and executing the policies and procedures of the program to support fire systems and safety compliance for Medxcel customers.
 

Meet Lee! In her role as Director, Customer Experience Center, Lee is responsible for two customer service teams, the Client Experience Center (CEC) and the Client Solution Center (CSC). These teams contribute to the retention and satisfaction of Medxcel clients through a focus on customer service and operational service standards. Lee develops and implements customer service strategies and processes that allow the teams to provide exceptional service support for customers and Medxcel field associates. Lee and her leaders work together to ensure that their frontline team members are trained and prepared to assist customers and have all the resources needed to quickly bring issues to resolution.
 

Meet David! David is an HVAC Tech II at a Medxcel client site in Kansas. In his role, David installs, operates, and maintains the hospital’s heating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. He is responsible for identifying and completing needed repairs and assists with the installation of replacement equipment when needed. David and his team conduct preventative maintenance and upgrades to the HVAC systems and equipment and assist other teams within Medxcel as needed.
 

Meet Paul!  Paul is the Facilities Manager at a hospital system in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In his role Paul manages the daily operations of the maintenance and facilities department to ensure that all customer goals are met while delivering service excellence. Paul assists in developing and executing the strategic direction of the facility and ensures safe and efficient operations on site in compliance with regulatory and safety guidelines.

Meet Jeff! Jeff is a Medxcel Landscaping Supervisor in Oklahoma. In his role Jeff and his team are responsible for managing the landscaping and horticulture requirements at their assigned facilities. Jeff helps to supervise his landscaping team providing them with support and training and is knowledgeable about the operation of a variety of landscaping equipment, horticultural practices, and plant and pest management.

Meet Tyris! Tyris is a Facilities Manager for a Medxcel client in Jacksonville, Florida. As Facilities Manager, Tyris manages the daily operations of the maintenance and facilities department at his assigned hospital. He and his team ensure that the facility operates safely and efficiently and remains in compliance with all applicable regulatory and safety guidelines while maintaining service excellence.  Tyris works with both Medxcel and client leadership to align organizational goals and objectives.
 

Meet Megan! Megan is a Regulatory Compliance Manager III where she helps lead the implementation of Medxcel’s operating system. She assesses new and existing clients for operational and regulatory compliance and provides operational and regulatory support to Medxcel facilities.

 

Meet Alenna! Alenna is a Workforce and Report Analyst for Medxcel. In her role, Alenna supports the Client Experience and Solution Center (CEC) team by helping to standardize, optimize, and automate key staffing and forecasting processes supporting associate engagement. She works with key stakeholders within Medxcel to ensure that department resources are optimized.

Meet Latasha! Latasha is a Maintenance Mechanic I at a Medxcel client hospital in Oklahoma. In her role, she performs routine and preventative maintenance duties at her site. She performs preventive maintenance troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs a variety of mechanical systems and equipment at her client facility.

 

Thinking back to past employers, Billie recalls a lot of resistance: Resistance to change, to growth, to opportunities. Not so with Medxcel, where she’s been encouraged to develop new skills, pursue her career aspirations, and have a say in company processes and plans. “It doesn’t feel like you have to elbow your way in or fight for what you need,” she recounts: “It just feels like support.”

Meet Kelly! Kelly is a Resource Director for Medxcel. In her role, Kelly acts a liaison between the site teams and the overall Medxcel Facilities Management team. Members of the resource team work with Medxcel leadership to take on a variety of assignments as needed including temporarily backfilling vacant positions and working on special projects.
 

Meet Rob! Rob is a Fire Systems Technician III for Medxcel serving customers in Indiana. He serves as the team lead for the local Medxcel Fire Systems team and is responsible for leading the team as they maintain, install, repair, test and inspect fire systems and sprinkler equipment in their assigned facilities.

Meet Lisa! Lisa is a Client Experience Coordinator Sr. for Medxcel. In her role she provides exceptional service to Medxcel customers, business leaders and client-based technicians to dispatch service requests. She is responsible for documenting reported issues and works with Medxcel technicians to resolve incidents to enable customers to deliver quality care to their patients.

Meet Jorge! Jorge is a Facilities Manager in Texas. In his role Jorge provides direction and leadership to the staff within the facilities department at his client site. He assists in setting the strategic direction to meet operational and financial goals, maintaining safety, utilities, and building systems. As Facilities Manager, Jorge also helps to ensure that all site regulatory and safety compliance is appropriately documented.

Meet Kelly! As manager, contracts and vendor management, Kelly leads Medxcel's supply chain efforts to support the development, implementation, and monitoring of contracts and agreements associated with Medxcel's large scale vendor programs. Kelly works alongside key stakeholders to ensure cost savings and value delivery, while meeting needs for complex capital projects. Kelly is responsible for ensuring that all suppliers and vendors meet all related building and safety codes, regulations, and accrediting agencies.
 

Meet Kellie! Kellie holds the role of Compliance Support Analyst for Medxcel at the corporate office in Indianapolis. Kellie and her team support the Program Management and Compliance teams. Kellie analyzes data from divisional resources, identifying trends, improvement opportunities, benchmarking, and training opportunities.

Tony is Manager Facilities for a Medxcel customer in Washington DC. As the Facility Manager, Tony is responsible for managing the daily operations of the maintenance and facilities departments. He partners with the customer’s leaders to develop, implement, and achieve operational goals. Tony and his team ensure the safe and efficient operation of the medical campus in compliance with applicable regulatory and safety guidelines. He works with associates, vendors, and the customer to drive successful operations and ensure satisfaction of all constituents.
 

Miguel is a Plumber II for Medxcel in Wichita, Kansas. In his role Miguel is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, fixtures and other plumbing equipment used for water distribution and wastewater disposal within the medical facility. Plumbers work cooperatively with other trades and laborers to ensure that all specifications, legislation, and policies are met and assigned projects are completed efficiently and on schedule.

Carla is a VP, Operations for Medxcel, overseeing facilities management services across multiple sites in her assigned region. Working closely with customers, Carla is responsible for integrated service delivery, customer retention, associate development, and strategic initiatives in her region. Carla works closely with Medxcel and customer leadership teams to ensure strategic alignment and achievement of goals for all parties. 

Jeff is a Medxcel Electrician III in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In his role Jeff assembles, installs, tests, and maintains electrical equipment, appliances, and fixtures. He diagnoses malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment and hand tools, locating the cause of a breakdown and correcting the problem. He inspects electrical systems, equipment, and components to proactively identify hazards, defects, and necessary repairs to ensure code compliance.

Greg is a Medxcel Fire Tech in Milwaukee, WI. He and his team oversee fire and sprinkler system inspections and maintenance for nine hospitals and several dozen clinics in the greater Milwaukee area.

Andrea didn’t set out to find her dream job at Medxcel—but after one interview, she was calling the recruiter from the parking lot, insisting they find her a place somewhere in the company. As director of purchasing nearly six years later, she leads four specialized teams that keep Medxcel operations running smoothly. Her track record in building efficient processes and developing team members proves that when you find the right cultural fit, extraordinary things happen.
